Gakkentoshi and Okonomiyaki

Last Saturday (9/14/2013), I went to a really cool event and got to meet a bunch of students from Gakkentoshi. Yuki, Yui, and Yuuki were there, too, so it was even more fun! Though we were all split up into teams, Yui and I were together in a team! We were in the pink team, Yuki and Vallia were in the green, and Yuuki was in the blue. The day consisted of us playing a bunch of games and trying to get more points than the other teams. First game was a name game. Whoever held the ball had to say the name of the people who ame before them and then their name. The next person had to say everyone's names before them and then say their own. So, the list just kept growing longer and longer.... For this game you earned points for having the most time without messing up anyone's names. Then, the next one was people's names and where they're from. Then, Their name and their hobby. So, by the end of it we had a pretty good idea of who everyone was. In our group we had Yamato, Saori, Karin, Ren, Toshiya, Saki, Shiori, Yui, Jen, Carla, Madison, and one or two more though I'm having trouble remembering their names.

Next game was a three legged race! I actually did really good at it despite it being my first time doing it! My partners and I actually managed to run with our legs tied! (I'm surprised that I didn't trip and fall!) At the turn around point, we had to guess who some pictures were of. The first picture for me was Avril Lavigne, then Totoro, and next Napoleon. I was surprised I managed to guess them all! Haha!

Up to this point the Pink team was in first, but the next game killed us.
Charades. The first thing that I had to act out was freaking Thumbelina! How the heck do I act that out! I asked the Japanese students afterwords, and they didn't even know who that was! We had to use a PASS on that one. The rest of the things we had to act out were pretty reasonable though.

Last, it was the Japanese version of Red light, Green light. Their version is themed, so when you freeze you have to be in certain positions. If the theme is swimming you have to freeze in a swim like posistion. It was super funny to watch! They did one round as Michael Jackson themed haha! When one of the themes was crying, Ren laid on his back, pretending to cry, and froze in that position, when the IT person turned around, haha! Dork!

In the end, the green team won (due to charades). Grr. But it was fun and I made a lot of new friends!

That night, Mai, Vallia, Jasmine, and I went out to eat okomiyaki. It was soo yummy! I got a Cheese and Pork okonomiyaki, but it was HUGE! I ordered the same size as everyone else and mine was like three times the size! But i would definitely order it a second time! It was so tasty! Also, is Japan spices are not spicy at all, we had a lvl 1 spice on our table (supposed to be the hottest) and we dumped it all over the okonomiyaki and could just barely feel any heat. Mai was horrified, haha! She can't stand spicy things at all and to her just a little bit of that was spicy, and we were discoloring our food because we put so much on! :)

Mai was getting frustrated here cause I kept making her wait before she ate the food. I wanted pictures!!! But she was really hungry, lol! Sorry Mai!

After eating okonomiyaki, we went to Tsutaya where "someone" and I bought some BL manga. Poor Mai had to help me search for the volumes I wanted! XD She was exclaiming "I can't believe that I am in this section looking for something!" She's so cute! Thanks again Mai!

  1. Haha, wow, so much fun! Yeah, Thumbelina would be pretty hard to act out in charades. And omigosh that food looks amazing! And not spicy? So I guess those Tokyo Fire Rolls they always serve at sushi joints are for American tastes only, huh? Neat.

Has anyone asked to touch your hair yet? XD
